SGB-SMIT POWER MATLA Cape Town looking for a suitably qualified HR Business Partner. The candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Be a support / coaching partner to line management and provide HR guidance as needed.
- Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Support line management and business on optimal structures, workforce planning and succession planning.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal as needed/required.
- Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counselling, career development, disciplinary actions).
- Effectively manage and implement HR processes (new hires, exits, etc.)
- Assists international employees with expatriate assignments and related HR matters.
- Identifies business training needs and manage execution thereof.
- Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success.
- Analyse trends/ metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant Qualification (Degree or Equivalent) in Human Resource Management, with a certified professional accreditation as advantageous.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience, within SEIFSA/MEIBC sector industries.
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including remuneration practices, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and respective laws.
- Proficient with MS Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with superior conflict management, facilitation and mediation skills.
- Self-motivated, ‘can-do’ and results driven person with great influencing skills.
Core Competencies
- Ability to understand and apply government Regulations and Acts related to injuries on duty.
- Experience in the investigation of injuries.
- Good interpersonal relationship skills.
- Communication Skills.
