SGB-SMIT POWER MATLA is a leading transformer manufacturer, part of the global SGB-SMIT Group. The company manufactures transformers from 16kVA to 800MVA and up to 420kV. The company has a vacancy for a Slitter Operator in the Core Cutting Department at its Pretoria Power Transformer plant.
Job Specification
SGB-SMIT POWER MATLA is looking for a suitably qualified Slitter Operator. The candidate will be responsible for slitting mother rolls into different width sizes. Adherence to the Health and Safety Act is imperative, the candidate must also work according to SGB-SMIT POWER MATLA quality standards, follow procedures and instructions.
Tasks
- Slit coils to required widths and standards
- Maintain health, safety, environmental and housekeeping standards;
- Perform housekeeping according to 5s standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Grade 12/N3;
- Minimum of 3 years experience in slitting operators;
- Be able to read and interpret slitting programs as well as have knowledge of the use of measuring equipment;
- Valid over-head crane license is required
Other Requirements
- Read and understand slitting programs;
- Must be willing to work in different areas not restricted to one area
